Bill Justice Named As New Technology Committee Chairman for the AAPL
Bill Justice, President and Founder of landman software company TotaLand Technologies, was recently selected as the Chairman of the Technology Committee for the American Association of Professional Landmen. The one-year position is hand-selected by the incoming president of the over 19 thousand member organization and became effective in June of 2013. Justice brings over 18 years of experience in the industry to the position.
When asked about the role of the Technology Committee, Justice explained, "The Technology Committee is charged with a broad task, touching virtually every aspect of the AAPL, including education, membership, certification, marketing, etc, with much of that flowing through the website. Our job is to facilitate the work of these various areas through the use of technology."
Justice takes over the position at an exciting time for the committee. With the first phase of the AAPL's website project completed, the committee now moves on to implement the second phase. Justice went on to explain, "Although we have an exciting agenda of tasks and goals, our primary focus at the moment is to shift into Phase 2 of the Landman.org roll out, Phase 1 being the implementation of the new site itself. In Phase 2, we aim to further leverage front-end and back-end technology to maximize our ability to serve our membership and the land industry as a whole."
Justice served for four years on the AAPL Board of Directors and was involved in the Public Lands Committee, the Certification Committee, and the Technology Committee. At the local chapter level, he currently serves as the Lafayette Association of Professional Landmen's Treasurer and previously served as Chapter President and Advertising Committee Chairman.
