Welcome to TotaLand Landman News. We want to thank Bill Justice for his years of vision and hard work at TotaLand and we wish him much success on his retirement from TotaLand. I want to introduce myself, Alan Day, President of TotaLand and VP/CIO of Fenstermaker. I have been involved with the Oil & Gas markets since the 80’s and have been responsible for TotaLand for the past few years. My background is in Engineering however I found early in my career that I loved programming and specifically solving business problems with software. From school I went to work for an Engineering company in West Palm Beach, FL and around that time the first IBM PC was released. When I saw it I knew that it would revolutionize computing in business, it was an amazingly creative tool that could be programmed to do anything it seemed. I decided to purchase one of these early PC’s (which cost around $6,000) and I also purchased version 1.0 programming compilers from a very young Microsoft Corporation. I used these programming tools at work writing software and solving technical problems, improving efficiency across the company. As my passion for programing grew I started my first software company called Summit Software to create technical GIS products for engineering which launched my career in commercial software development now spanning over 30 years. Over time I would lead teams as large as 100 programmers designing and building leading-edge products that solve business problems. I hold 3 patents in innovative visualization methodologies of business financial data (Blink ChartsTM) and here are a few of the product lines:

· IntarsiaTM – CRM for the Financial Markets.

· PowerFormsTM, FilePadTM, HippocatesTM – Handheld/PDA solutions distributed by Apple.
In this newsletter I would like to mainly focus on what I see for the future of TotaLand. Today we have thousands of users across the country and I would like to begin by thanking our users for helping us build this company and a great product. Our passion as a company is to help you in your business and we will begin the first of what I expect to be a series of Workshops held here in our Lafayette office. The first workshop will be on the topic of “Social Media” where we would like to help you understand fully how to use social media in your professional and personal life. At this workshop you will have practical hands-on learning for LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. It will be held on June 26th from 11am – 2pm here at 135 Regency Square, Lafayette and lunch will be served.
