But Will Your Brokers Use It?
Just like any other product, the most impressive software in the world is worthless if it doesn’t make the end users' work easier. I was a field landman before I was a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) guy, so TotaLand naturally reflects what I feel would make our users’ work lives easier, based on my experience. More importantly, it also reflects years’ worth of informal feedback from our users.
This close interaction with our clients means we have a pretty good idea of how our users feel. Earlier this month, however, we completed our first formal survey of our users—and the feedback is invaluable! Although there were no unpleasant surprises, we solicited and received constructive criticism as well as suggestions for future development. From our perspective, we were pleased to see that in both cases, issues mentioned were already identified internally and on our development schedule. Interestingly, the remaining issues were generally based on a lack of awareness on the part of the user, which is in itself is very valuable information, and one which we intend to rectify through a focused support effort.
The survey generally covered the relatively mundane aspects of aesthetics, work flow and support, all to which we received very encouraging responses. Since we plan to conduct this User Satisfaction Survey each quarter, we can now measure our progress using the results of this survey as a benchmark. I am very excited about the prospect…
While everything I mention above is extremely important, the one question that I focused on intently was a very simple one—How likely are you to recommend our company to someone else? Overall, 9 out of 10 responded that they were either very likely or extremely likely to do so. What an endorsement! Now if we limit the responses to those who have been using TotaLand for at least a year, the number is closer to 95%!
This is a number that is very pleasing to me, but the two numbers taken together also reveal a possible need to address why newer users don’t feel the same level of enjoyment. It may be simple and it may be complex, but regardless, it is valuable information, and we intend to capitalize on it as part of our relentless pursuit of user satisfaction.
